Refund policy
The free trial
The trial costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund. If you do not go ahead, you owe nothing.
Website builds
- If you cancel before we have started building your full site, we refund your deposit in full.
- Once the build has started, the deposit is not refunded, because it pays for work already done for you.
- The balance is due when your site is ready to go live. It is not refunded once the site is live.
- If we cannot deliver the website you ordered, we refund everything you paid for it.
Monthly Talk plans
- Plans are paid monthly in advance. A month that has started is not refunded in part.
- If you move to a smaller plan, it starts on your next billing date. Nothing is refunded for the current month.
Add-ons and upgrades
- An add-on or upgrade we have not started is refunded in full. One that has been built and delivered is not refunded.
- An upgrade invoice you have not paid can be cancelled at any time.
Web addresses
A domain name cannot be refunded once it is registered, because the registry does not refund us. It stays registered to your business.
Mistakes
If you were charged twice or charged the wrong amount, we refund the difference in full.
How to ask for a refund
Email shaun@digitalcartel.online from the address on your account and tell us which invoice it is about. We reply within 2 business days. An approved refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Paystack, within 10 business days.
Cancellation policy
Cancelling a build
You can cancel a build at any time before your site goes live by emailing us. What is refunded is set out above.
Cancelling a monthly plan
- There is no contract term. You can cancel at any time by emailing shaun@digitalcartel.online or asking your partner.
- Your site stays live until the end of the month you have paid for. Nothing more is billed after that.
- Before it ends you can download your website, or have it published to your own hosting. Your domain name stays yours.
- After it ends, visitors see that the site is not available. We keep your files so you can come back, and delete them when you ask.
If a monthly payment is missed
We send a reminder when an invoice is overdue and a final warning before anything happens. A site is paused 14 days after the due date and comes back by itself as soon as the invoice is paid.
When we may cancel
We may suspend or end a site that is used for anything unlawful or that breaks our Terms of Service. We tell you first and give you the chance to put it right, unless the law or a real risk to others means we have to act at once.
Your rights
Nothing on this page takes away a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
